DPWH inaugurates P40.67M school building in Sta. Maria, Bulacan

STA. MARIA — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Bulacan 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) officially turned over a newly constructed four-storey, eight-classroom school building at San Gabriel National High School in this town during an inauguration and blessing ceremony on Saturday (Feb. 1).

The P40.67-million project, designed to address the growing demand for quality educational facilities, spans 874 square meters and is built to meet the latest safety, stability, and sustainability standards, with a capacity to accommodate up to 600 students.

District Engineer George Santos highlighted key features of the facility, including a pressurized water supply system, provisions for persons with disabilities (PWDs) such as accessible ramps and toilets, fire extinguishers and exits, ergonomic classroom furniture, and a ceramic tile finish for long-term sustainability.’

“We are not merely inaugurating a building. We are building the foundation for a brighter tomorrow for our children,” Santos said.

The event was attended by House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, Bulacan 6th District Representative Salvador Pleyto, DepEd Region III Director Ronnie Mallari, DPWH Region III Assistant Director Melquiades Sto. Domingo, and other local government officials.
