CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Six former Militiang Bayan members voluntarily surrendered to authorities in Aurora and pledged their allegiance back to the government on Tuesday (June 13).
According to PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. JoseS. Hidalgo Jr., the surrenderers have joined the group of Regional Sentro Gravidad of the Komiteng Rehiyon-Cagayan Valley (KR-CV) operating in the province of Isabela.
They also turned in two hand grenades, one improvised 12-gauge Shotgun, 1-meter detonating cord, one blasting cap; three (3) pieces of 12-gauge ammunition; one piece M14 magazine; 10 pcs. of 7.62mm ammunition, the flag of CPP-NPA and several subversive books and documents.
Likewise, lawmen provided them with financial assistance and assorted goods as they reintegrate to their communities thereafter.
“The government will always welcome members of CTG with open arms and we will give our best efforts to assist them as they reunite with their families. I call on our fellow Filipinos who are still active members of leftist groups to return to the government side and help us build better and safer communities for everyone,” Hidalgo also said.
