CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A village chief was arrested after police authorities seized several firearms and ammunition during the implementation of a Search Warrant in Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
Based on a report to Brig. Gen. Jose Hildago Jr. Central Luzon police director, Gil Gmis of Barangay San Miguel was apprehended after a raid on his house yielded one M16 rifle, one Carbine, one rifle grenade, numerous rounds of live ammunition, magazine assemblies, and a flare gun.
Hidalgo said joint operatives of the Regional Special Operations Group 3, RMFB3, and Guimba MPS implemented Search for violation of R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition) issued by Hon. Frazierwin Villaflore Viterbo, Executive Judge, Regional Trial Court, Third Judicial Region, Branch 33, Guimba, Nueva Ecija.
he added the search was done in an orderly manner in the presence of barangay officials.
“We have been continuously beefing up our aggressive drive to recover and to seize loose firearms through continuous police operations and implementation of Search Warrants against illegal gun owners,” Hildago said.
Hildago added this may serve as a stern warning to all especially those who have not yet renewed their licenses or turned over their undocumented firearms in their nearest police stations for safekeeping. Stricter penalties are imposed against violators. (UnliNews Online)
