CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — A former member and spokesperson of the CTG-affected Mass Organization “Aguman da reng Maglalatang Capampangan” (AMC) and Alyansa ng Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon voluntarily surrendered and withdrew his support on Wednesday (Aug. 23) in Angeles City.
The event was accompanied by initial cash assistance aimed at facilitating his reintegration into the community.
In a separate incident in Nueva Ecija, a municipal councilor known by the alias “KONSI,” who had been financing CTGs/CFOs, willingly turned himself in to law enforcement authorities on August 22, 2023. He reaffirmed his loyalty to the government and renounced support for leftist groups.
PRO3 Director Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. stressed the importance of continued dialogue between government forces and CTG/CFO members as a key strategy in countering local insurgency.
He added, “We urge our fellow Filipinos who are still aligned with the left to lay down their arms and pursue a more promising path in life.” (UnliNews Online)
