DPWH Zambales 1st DEO collects 206 bags in blood drive

IBA, Zambales — In a display of community spirit, a total of 243 employees from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Zambales 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) participated in a bloodletting activity held at the district office multipurpose hall from January 8 to 11, 2024.

Jointly organized by District Engineer Hermon G. Ines and Maria Elizabeth J. Ednave-Tovera, the Administrator of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) – Zambales Chapter, the four-day bloodletting drive yielded 206 bags of donated whole blood.

“This contribution perfectly aligns with the PRC’s unwavering commitment to ensuring an adequate supply of blood for those in need, and I would like to express my profound gratitude to the district employees for their selfless dedication to donating blood,” Ines said.

He shared that their voluntary act reflects their unwavering commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle and enhancing the well-being of the community.
“This initiative serves as a powerful testament to how our dedication extends beyond our core function of constructing quality and safe infrastructure, reaching into the very hearts and lives of the people we serve,” Ines added.

DPWH Zambales 1st DEO’s bloodletting drive reflects community kindness through a collaborative effort, leaving a lasting legacy that enriches and strengthens lives by supporting those who will be needing assistance from PRC.

Also present in the blood donation drive were PRC-Zambales Chapter Service Representatives Imarie J. De Guzman and Lynette D. Julian, with the support and guidance of Dr. Maria Andrea Sena-Bugayong, the Municipal Health Officer of Iba, Zambales-Rural Health Unit. (UnliNews Online)
