48 women entrepreneurs in Central Luzon join DTI mentoring program

IBA, Zambales — A total of 48 women entrepreneurs in Central Luzon joined the Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

These include seven mentees each from the provinces of Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales, and six mentees from Aurora.

DTI Regional Small and Medium Enterprises Development Division Chief Warren Patrick Serrano said KMME is a digital mentoring platform composed of 10 modules with the key goal of boosting the entrepreneurial capacity through improved access to mentorship, money and market.

“We are implementing the program in partnership with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, also known as Go Negosyo. It will be conducted online over the period of three months,” he explained.

At the end of KMME, the women entrepreneurs will be presenting their business improvement plans.

It will also have a government services forum so that partner agencies of DTI can present their programs and services to the mentees.

The 48 women entrepreneurs make the first batch of mentees for 2024. Their online training will run from April 5 to June 20.

To date, a total of 825 mentees in the region have successfully graduated since the program piloted in 2016, transitioning to online mode in 2020.
