Brewing Connections: A coffee tasting event in honor of World Coffee Day

CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Bulacan coordinated by CARP celebrated International Coffee Day with a special coffee tasting event recently at the OTOP Hub located in the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office.

It has become a practice that every year on October 1st, coffee lovers across the globe unite to celebrate World Coffee Day, an occasion to recognize the beverage that powers millions of people daily and boost the economy of the coffee industry.

This year, we marked the day with a special coffee tasting activity, bringing together coffee enthusiasts and aficionados in the Provincial Government of Bulacan and experience the richness and diversity that Bulacan coffee has to offer.

The event spearheaded by DTI Bulacan aimed to offer participants a journey through the world of coffee, highlighting different variety and flavor profiles. We featured the coffee of Talbak Coffee Blend, the coffee product of Talbak Fruits and Coffee Growers Association Inc. a curated selection of blended Liberica and Robusta beans from the mountains of Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan.

Talbak Coffee carried unique characteristics based on the soil, climate, and elevation of its origin, allowing tasters to explore how these factors influence taste. This activity also paved way to network and collaborate future endeavors of DTI Bulacan and the Provincial Government.

For many, the most enjoyable part of the event was the opportunity to interact and share insights on how to further assist the coffee farmers and processors in the province by introducing sustainable farming practices.

World Coffee Day is a celebration of more than just the beverage itself. It’s a day to honor the entire coffee industry, from the farmers who cultivate the beans to the baristas who craft the perfect cup.

Our coffee tasting activity allowed participants to dive deeper into the complexity of coffee, discover new favorites, and leave with a greater appreciation for the craftsmanship behind every cup.

As we reflect on this year’s World Coffee Day celebration, we’re reminded of the power of coffee to bring people together, inspire curiosity, and ignite a lifelong passion for the world’s favorite brew. We look forward to continuing the tradition next year with more coffee explorations, one cup at a time. (UnliNews Online)
